We're Home!

As many of you already know, shortly after my last post, Noah Zachary Wolfe did make his entrance into the world :) . On Tuesday night (the 29th), my contractions started coming about 5 minutes apart, and we headed to the hospital around 8:00 pm. After a short wait, I was admitted, but unfortunately, it was a big night for babies at U of M, so I had to wait quite a while for an epidural. The labor was pretty tough up about midnight, but then the epidural arrived, and I was MUCH better! I actually slept on and off until about 3 AM on Wednesday, then Noah arrived at 3:34 AM. He was 8 pounds, 12 ounces, and 21.5 inches long. It should also be noted that he has HUMONGOUS feet! Everything went normal with the delivery, but unfortunately, Noah became a bit jaundice. We were originally supposed to go home on Thursday morning, but we ended up having to stay until Saturday so he could stay under the 'heat lamps'. The reason for the jaundice was some sort of blood type incompatibility (I'm O positive, and he's A positive). He is doing much better now though; they sent us home with something called a 'Bili Blanket', which we need to keep on him at all times until at least his first pediatrician appointment, which is tomorrow morning.

It's a little awkward to keep on him all the time, but we're making do :) He also lost a bit of weight since he was born, so we've been feeding him like crazy. His routine will be eat, sleep, poop, repeat for a while! :)

I've been taking a bunch of pictures, but haven't had a chance to upload them yet, I hope to do this in the next few days. We hope to introduce everyone to Noah very soon! :) Here is one shot of him:

Hi All,
We were so happy to read about Noah, and congrats. He IS adorable! Don't worry about the bili thing, it fades and the weight loss it fades. Enjoy the eat, poop, sleep cycle, it fades too! Love and prayers,
The Klaukes
