My Marathon Experience

Today I ran in the Detroit Marathon... to be clear, I ran in a portion of the marathon (I was on a relay team with friends from work). I ran the shortest leg, 3 miles, but given that I started training 2 weeks ago and haven't run since high school, I was pretty proud of myself just for finishing :) The day started at 4 AM, and was action packed... the first big event was while our bus was parking at my leg of the relay, it hit a concrete wall and threw us all out of our seats. I was actually sleeping at the time, but after my head smacked into the seat in front of me, I woke up fast! Here's the bus after, notice the bumper...

How does one run into a concrete wall? Fine question, the driver was sent for drug tests immediately. Anyway, we move on... my leg of the relay was on Belle Isle and was a great run... perfect weather and good scenery. We didn't finish in first place (or... eh... in the top 500), but we had a great time, and that's what counts :) Here's a pic of our two teams after the race:
