2012 in Review!

To be honest, 2012 was not the best of years for a lot of our close friends and family.  But in the spirit of 2013 right around the corner, and hoping it's a much better year, we're just going to focus on the highlights!

1)  Adam Walks

This may be THE highlight of the year.  Adam finally walked right around turning 18 months old.  It was very exciting for all of us, especially those of us who were having to carry him everywhere!

2)  No Winter

It was a little bitter sweet having such a warm winter, but none of us were complaining when we had a solid 70 degree week in March!  Besides, it looks like we'll get plenty of opportunities to use all of our snow gear this winter ;-)

3)  Adam Talks

Adam's vocabulary has really exploded this year, along with his personality... it looks like we have a little bit of a sassy pants on our hands!  'No want it!' was one of his early phrases, and continues to be used frequently, along with 'enough!', and 'stop it!'.  He is full of spunk, and we love him :)


4)  Cecilia Arrives

Ah, a little bitter sweet too, but a very happy event... I was so excited about Cecilia's arrival.  I was going to be in the room with Renee, and would get to see my very first niece right away.  I had to go on a work trip on July 30, about a week from her due date, but wasn't too worried because Renee wasn't progressing at all.  The night of July 30, around midnight Eastern time, I was settling into my bed in California for some TV, and got a text from Renee:  'Are you awake?'.  My response:  'Yes, BUT WHY ARE YOU????'  I of course knew the answer... her water broke, and she was in labor.  I was going to miss it all :(  Renee did great, and Cecilia was born the next morning on her dad's birthday.  Cece is a very healthy, happy little girl, and we love her to pieces... she is especially loved by her big cousin Noah, who always wants to see her, entertain her, give her hugs, etc.

5)  The Boys' Obsessions

Adam's is easy... Mickey Mouse has been #1 for quite a while.  I think we're up to about 8 stuffed Mickeys, one Mickey couch, multiple Mickey play sets, and probably a little bit too much 'Mickey Mouse TV'! :-p  Noah was a little all over the place this year... we had a little bit of a 'Jake and the Neverland Pirates' stint, still some 'Cars' love, 'Star Wars', superheroes (including Batman, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and Power Rangers... I don't think he even knows what most of these are, but he hears about them in pre-school ;-)), and the latest... Angry Birds.  When you have Angry Birds Star Wars, it's especially a hit!
