Disney!

We had a great week at Disney last week! It was the boys' first visit, as well as the first time they had been on a plane... here's how it went:

We arrived on Sunday after a mostly uneventful flight down (the door on the plane was broken, so we had to switch planes, but it was Delta, so I'm going to consider that 'uneventful' ;-)). The boys did great, with a lot of help from the iPads. We got our stroller immediately from the hotel, which was the boys' personal chariot for the rest of the week:

We stayed at Port Orleans - French Quarter, which offered a boat ride right to Downtown Disney, where we had dinner and visited the Lego store:

Speaking of Legos, Legoland was our first park on Monday! I'm glad we did this one first... it was a little underwhelming compared to the Magic Kingdom, but the boys enjoyed it (well, most of them did, Adam was terrified of any Lego figure that made noise). We even ran into Noah's friend Taylor there:

Monday night was dinner at Chef Mickey's, which was a character dinner. We should have been clued in by our experience at Legoland that Adam might be afraid of the giant characters! That is the reason why you won't see him in any character pictures, not that I'm showing preferential treatment to the first-born! ;-)

Tuesday was Hollywood Studios, where we had another character meal (lunch at Hollywood & Vine with some Disney Junior characters - more Adam terror), and went on our first Disney ride - Toy Story Midway Mania.

One of the highlights of the trip was Noah's Jedi Training Tuesday evening at Hollywood Studios. He got training by a 'Jedi Master', and then got to fight Darth Vader... he did great!

Wednesday was Animal Kingdom, where we had our last character meal.  By then, we had the drill down pat... Adam sat nowhere near the aisle where the characters walked down, and would sometimes even wave.  Noah also had the drill down pat - hug, picture, then autograph :)

After some time at the pool, we made our way to Magic Kingdom for the first time Wednesday night, and watched the Electrical Parade - very cool!

We spent most of the day Thursday at the Magic Kingdom and did a lot of the 'classics'... went on 'It's a Small World' and 'Peter Pan', got our picture taken in front of the castle, ate Mickey Ice Cream bars, spent a lot of money on souvenirs, etc. etc.

The boys also went to the 'Pirate League', where they could get made up to look like Pirates.  You will notice an absence of make-up from Adam's face... we tried, but he wasn't having it!  He originally picked to be 'Jake', but then wanted to be 'Cubby'.  That wasn't really a valid option, but the girl tried her best :-)  Noah was Captain Hook.... rrrrrr!!!!

We made our way to Epcot for dinner, and to celebrate Peggy's birthday!  We ate at Via Napoli, a restaurant in 'Italy'.  About halfway through the meal, Noah leaned over to me and whispered with a straight face 'Are we in China?'.  Ummmm.... apparently they haven't gotten to world cultures in Kindergarten yet ;-)

After a brief visit to Magic Kingdom Friday morning, we were on our way to the airport.  And after (another) Delta delayed flight, we were on our way home :)  We'll miss you Disney World!
