Bailey is NOT on his best behavior to start his 9th year of life. Yesterday, right after I left for work, my mom let him outside. Usually, our docile dog may walk around, perhaps lay down, bark at the deer, and at the very worst, he may dig a hole. Today, he decided to CORNER AND FEROCIOUSLY ATTACK A RACCOON!!! My poor mom couldn't do much since she was watching Noah, so she first tried to separate them with the mop. The mop lost:
She then tried to dump water on them. This didn't work either. Noah even yelled out the window to him, 'no, no, no!' Finally, our neighbor came over to separate them. Luckily, Bailey is up to date on his rabies vaccines, and actually didn't seem to have any injuries from the event. The poor raccoon laid under our window until animal control came to take him away. Apparently, the 20 hours a day that Bailey usually sleeps was him resting up for his big event!!! :-( Needless to say, Bailey will be on a leash outside indefinitely! Bad boy!
