2016 in Review!

2016 didn't have the best of starts (our family pooch, Bailey, passed away in early January), but it did have its share of highlights.  In no particular order, here's what I remember...

  • Bailey will never be replaced, but it was too quiet around here without a dog... in March, we welcomed Benny (fka Danny) into our family.  He's very strong (and a bit crazy!) but is a sweet boy... CeCe and I are his biggest fans :)

  • I went to Vegas for the first time in my life (and then went back again 6 months later!).  I learned very quickly that it is not my cup of tea... I consider it checked off my bucket list!

  • Noah made his First Communion (look at him in his little suit!)

  • Adam graduated from pre-school... and finished his number roll (1 - 1000).  He was the very first in his class to do it, and spent hours at a time working on it.  For our easily distracted kid, this was really impressive... we were really proud of our little buddy!

  • Adam learned how to ride a 2-wheeler... our very cautious boy learned a lot quicker than we anticipated!

  • The boys spent 2 weeks Up North with Grandma and Papa without us, and had a blast!  Maybe 3 weeks next summer? ;-)

  • We took our first full family camping trip with the Dieterles... thanks to Mr. Camper Scott, we were well-prepared, and had a great time!

  • The boys started going to school together... Noah started 3rd grade, and Adam started Kindergarten.  Both are doing great, Adam even went on the bus without a problem :)

  • The boys picked out perfect Halloween costumers... Adam was Flash (the sloth) from Zootopia, and Noah was Tape Face from America's Got Talent (and was the spitting image!)
  • Noah's orthodontic treatment began... I imagine it will be ongoing for approximately 6 more years :(
  • And finally... the basement is almost done!  As I type, the walls are up and painted, tile floor is laid, and cabinets are almost up... no pictures until it's done!  2017 will be the year, I can feel it!
