2018 in Review!

2018 was a blur, but a (mostly) good one :). Here's what I remember:

  • The year started with Noah getting his braces off (at least phase 1... a full set will follow once he loses all of his baby teeth.  He's enjoying it while it lasts!)

  • We took full advantage of the finished basement, and spent lots of time down there.  Since there was no need for a playroom on the main floor any longer, we began converting it into a dining room... it is getting very close, I have paint on my fingers as I type!
  • Adam lost both top two front teeth just about at the same time... his baby face is going away :(

  • We took a family of four trip to Chicago on the train, and had a blast (even though it was freeeeezing).  The boys got a kick out of being in a 'big city', and taking taxis and Ubers.  Our favorite stop was the Museum of Science & Industry.

  • The boys spent 3 weeks Up North this summer with Grandma and Papa Wolfe (and were not too excited to come home!).  During one of their stints, Scott and I took a trip to Petoskey and Mackinac Island, which Scott planned all on his own!  We had an awesome time, it was nice to relax!

  • Noah started his last year of elementary school (5th grade), and Adam started 2nd.  Noah is now starting to pass up many of my friends in height, and also passed me up in shoe size this year (he has a ways to go to get to Scott's size 15!)

  • Noah started on a swim team (but has explicitly asked me not to include a picture :)), and Adam is continuing with piano lessons, and really starting to get the hang of it.  He came home one day from school telling us his new favorite song is 'Hey Jude', and asked us if we had heard of it ;-). We got the sheet music, and will try to learn to play it next year!
  • And finally, we had a new addition to our family!  Welcome to Addison George Cassata, the boys' new cousin, who was born on September 21st.  She is very sweet and snuggly, we spent quite a few hours over Christmas break with her taking naps :)

We hope everyone had a great year, as well... we are excited for 2019!
